About Your Speakers

Dr. Lorna Hecker, PhD, LMFT
Professor Emerita
Dr. Lorna Hecker, PhD, LMFT is in private practice in Fort Collins, Colorado, USA. She is a Professor Emerita of Purdue University where she was faculty in the Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) program for 25 years, and Director of the University’s Couple and Family Therapy Center. She is also the owner of the Center for Neurodiverse Wellness, which focuses on clients on the autism spectrum and other neurodiversities. She is an AAMFT Approved Supervisor and Clinical Fellow. She is the co-Editor (with Dr. Rachel Bédard) of A Spectrum of Solutions for Clients with Autism (Taylor Francis, 2020), and the forthcoming book Different Planets: Understanding your Neurodiverse Relationship, among other therapy related books.
Dr. Rachel Bédard, PhD
Psychologist
Dr. Rachel Bédard, PhD is also in private practice in Fort Collins, Colorado, USA. As a Psychologist, she enjoys collaborative projects with her colleagues, including three books, and the creation of The Social Learning Project. Her office might be the loudest, with lots of laughter and creative "experiments" designed to help folks reach their goals. Finally, she almost said “NO” to this presentation due to ... wait for it ... anxiety. But she said “YES” as one of those personal experiments. She can't ask her clients to try new things if she won't also try new things.
