Dr. Michael Ellis is a physician, double Board-certified in Adult and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. He has a 17-year-old daughter with autism spectrum disorder. He is an autism expert and treats mostly autism spectrum disorder in his outpatient practice. He has written an autism chapter for pediatricians in a Springer publication, and has authored his own book for parents and caregivers of those with ASD, called Caring for Autism: Practical Advice from a Parent and a Physician with Oxford University Press. He is also the Clinical Associate Professor and Clerkship Director of Psychiatry for Mercer University College of Medicine, and the current President of the Georgia Council on Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
