Personal Journey And "Educating Marston"
In addition to his work at North Florida Stem Cells, Dr. Eric Weiss and his wife, Christine Weiss, have shared their deeply personal journey of raising a child with autism in their book, Educating Marston: A Mother and Son’s Journey Through Autism. This inspiring book chronicles their experiences navigating the challenges of autism, the therapies they explored, and the breakthroughs they achieved along the way.
Their son, Marston, was diagnosed with autism at an early age, and like many parents, Dr. Weiss and Christine searched tirelessly for treatments that could improve his quality of life. Through years of research, advocacy, and trialing various interventions, they discovered stem cell therapy, which became a pivotal part of Marston’s treatment journey. After receiving multiple stem cell treatments, Marston has shown continued progress in cognitive function, speech, social engagement, and overall well-being, reinforcing Dr. Weiss’s belief in the potential of regenerative medicine for autism.
Educating Marston offers a heartfelt, honest, and informative perspective on the realities of parenting a child with autism, while also providing hope and encouragement for other families facing similar challenges. The book serves as both a memoir and a guide, blending personal experiences with practical insights on therapies, education strategies, and medical advancements, including stem cell therapy.
Dr. Weiss’s professional expertise and personal experience as both a physician and a father give him a unique perspective and deep commitment to helping families explore regenerative medicine as a treatment option for autism. His journey with Marston continues to drive his passion for providing compassionate, research-backed care to children with autism at North Florida Stem Cells.

"New doors are opening for our son, thanks to stem cell therapy (SCT) with Dr. Weiss! Our 5-year-old son, with autism, was struggling to express himself, succeed in preschool, and engage in our busy household of 5 kids. He would get easily frustrated, and it was heart-breaking to watch him melt down at no fault of his own. Once speaking in single words or maybe two words strung together, he now speaks in some full sentences! 'It’s time to go play with friends!' 'Let’s go to the (BMX) track!' And perhaps 'I don’t want to do that!' when asked to throw his trash away! He may have even very confidently stated, 'Mom, I’d like a chocolate bar for lunch please!' I may or may not have said, 'You got it, little man!' I would highly recommend stem cell treatment with Dr. Weiss if you are considering it. He and his wonderful staff are kind, helpful, knowledgeable, and compassionate!"
"My son has Autism, and after several treatments he is more curious, more engaging, more organized, and speaking more."
“Highly recommend! So out of all the doctors that offer Stem Cells for Autism, we decided to go with Dr. Weiss at North Florida Stem Cells because my wife read tons of positive reviews about him and his success at his clinic. Yesterday marked the 1 month mark of our 3 year old twin boy's treatments. I'm being as honest as I can be here and can say we have seen a lot of positive progress in both boys. They went from being non-verbal to saying mama and daddy the very next evening. Their therapists have been telling us that they are more focused and can say many words when they want to. Sometimes at home they get lazy and don't want to talk, but we know they are in therapy because they send us videos. They have both gotten better at sleeping throughout the entire night and for us as working parents, that was one of the most important things. Believe me when I say that sleep deprivation is a real thing. They still do their stemming, but not as much as before. As time goes by, I will post more”
“Awesome stem cell treatment for my son asd 5 years old. The team and Dr.Weiss was extremely professional and kind. The results were amazing will be back next year!”
“It's been two and a half months since our 9 year old son received his first stem cell therapy with Dr. Weiss. We have seen positive shifts with his development and demeanor. Our son is more likely to spend time with family. He tolerates going places more. His grandparents noticed that he seemed overall more calm and content. He is still very preverbal, but I noticed he says his words a bit more clearly and with a bit more ease. We are very happy that we tried stem cells with North Florida Stem Cells, and looking forward to seeing more gains.”
“We did stem cell therapy 6 months ago. My son five year old was non verbal, no eye contact and didn’t sleep more than 3 to 4 hrs. The first 4 months after the stem cell therapy was very difficult but now he responds to his name, sleeps 8 to 10 hours straight. He also said his first word. He plays with other children and eats different foods, veggies and fruits. He makes eye contact most of the time and he is retaining what we are teaching him. Dr Eric Weiss and his team were wonderful every step of the way. We will be going back for 2nd stem cell therapy. Thank you Dr Weiss and his wonderful team.”
“My son Michael is ten years old and he is autistic. We are almost two months into his stem cell therapy and already we are seeing amazing results. My son has been more engaging, he is starting to speak more and is overall happier with less self injurious and aggressive behaviors. His teacher and speech therapist have sent us messages saying that he is talking more. So other people are noticing his progress as well. He has already made more progress than we could have hoped for. We are forever greatful to Dr. Weiss and his wife for getting involved and helping other families like ours. The entire staff at North Florida Stem Cells is fantastic, and very welcoming.”
Our Testimony: The Impact of Stem Cell Therapy on McConnell’s Life
As parents, we always want the best for our children, especially when they face unique challenges. Our son, McConnell, is an incredible little boy with cerebral palsy, autism, and Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome (Epilepsy) . Though he is nonverbal, his progress and personality speak volumes. We recently embarked on a journey with stem cell therapy, hoping it would give him the support he needed to thrive. What we have witnessed since has been nothing short of life-changing.
Since undergoing stem cell treatment, McConnell has been happier, more engaged, and making daily progress in ways we once only dreamed of.
• He is using both hands purposefully, trying to open packages, pinched open buckles, and reach for objects like the TV remote.
• He has begun waving, pointing to desired items, and gesturing in ways that improve his ability to communicate with us.
• He is becoming more affectionate—leaning in for kisses, hugging spontaneously, and rubbing our legs for comfort.
• His ability to focus and interact has improved; he is responding to his name more consistently, engaging with peers, and making incredible eye contact.
• He is showing more independence in daily activities, like putting a spoon in his mouth without grabbing food with his hands, appropriately playing with toys, and climbing into his medical chair when it’s mealtime.
• His curiosity is growing—he is exploring his environment in new ways, like searching for more gummies under a blanket or under clothing, clearly showing he understands object permanence.
• Most importantly, his overall joy has increased—he laughs more, plays more, and is experiencing the world in a new and exciting way.
One of the most remarkable changes has been in his brain activity. For the first time in his life, McConnell’s EEG showed areas of typical brain activity—something we never thought we would see. For a child with epilepsy, this is a profound and hopeful milestone.
We are beyond grateful for the impact stem cell therapy has had on McConnell’s life. His journey is one of perseverance and strength and seeing him unlock new abilities each day has been the greatest blessing. We cannot wait to see what the future holds for our sweet boy!
